How Many cPanel Accounts Do You Need for Reseller Hosting?

Start with the clients who need separate hosting access, then check their storage and resource needs. Account count is only one part of choosing a reseller plan.

Count Client Accounts, Not Just Websites

A cPanel account is a hosting workspace for files, email, databases and settings. It is not the same thing as a domain name. For planning purposes, give unrelated clients separate accounts so they can use their own access and you can manage each client’s hosting separately.

Do not assume every extra domain requires another account, or that one account can host unlimited sites. Check the domain allowances and resource limits of the package you intend to offer. Several sites inside one account share that account’s resources.

Make a Small Client Inventory

Before choosing a plan, list the clients moving now and those likely to launch soon. For each, record:

  • Website files and database size.
  • Email storage, including large mailboxes.
  • Current CPU or memory limits and any recurring resource warnings.
  • Who needs access and who handles support.
  • Expected growth, such as product photos or stored documents.

Use measured storage from the current hosting account where possible. A small website can still have a large email archive.

Compare Accounts and Total Storage Together

TrentaHost’s listed reseller plans currently pair the following allowances. Check the plan comparison for current pricing and full limits.

Reseller Plan Allowances
Plan cPanel Accounts Total SSD Storage
Basic 25 25GB
Business 50 50GB
Enterprise 100 100GB

The storage is the reseller plan’s total, not an allowance per client. Having spare account slots does not mean you have spare disk space.

Two Examples: Why Account Count Is Not Enough

Example A: twelve clients use 12GB combined across websites, databases and email. A 25-account, 25GB plan leaves thirteen account slots and 13GB before reaching those two limits. You still need to check each client’s resource needs and allow room for growth.

Example B: twenty clients use 35GB combined. They fit within twenty-five accounts, but exceed a 25GB storage allocation. A larger storage allowance is needed even though account slots remain.

These are illustrative calculations, not a recommendation for every twelve- or twenty-client business.

Check Each Client’s Resource Limits

The listed reseller plans provide each cPanel account with 1 CPU core, 1GB RAM, 20 processes, 5 MB/s I/O and 200,000 inodes. Compare those limits with the sites you intend to host. A resource-heavy store may need a different arrangement even when its files occupy little space.

Additional cPanel accounts are listed at $0.30 each; contact our team to increase your allocation and confirm billing. Adding accounts does not automatically increase your total storage or each account’s resources.

Build a Hosting Package You Can Support

Include your own time for client questions, website maintenance and billing when deciding what to charge. White-label hosting lets you use your brand, but your customer service commitments are yours to define. Be clear about what your package includes and what costs extra.

Compare the monthly equivalent with the full upfront payment for the selected hosting term. TrentaHost prices are in USD; check taxes, extras and coupon conditions at checkout.
