ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY (AUP)
1. Lawful Use of Services
TrentaHost Services may only be utilized for lawful purposes. Any transmission, storage, or presentation of information, data, or material that violates the laws of the United Kingdom, the United States, or any applicable jurisdiction is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, materials that are copyrighted, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise protected by intellectual property laws, trade secrets, or other legal rights. The Customer agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless TrentaHost Co., its affiliates, and its employees from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses arising from the use of the Service in violation of this Acceptable Use Policy or applicable law.
2. Termination of Services
TrentaHost reserves the right to immediately suspend or terminate any service, without notice, in response to any Customer or End User activity that creates legal liability for TrentaHost or that threatens TrentaHost’s ability to provide services to other customers, or that violates this Acceptable Use Policy.
3. Prohibited Activities
The following activities constitute violations of this Acceptable Use Policy and will result in the suspension or termination of Services. This list is not exhaustive, and TrentaHost reserves the right to deem other activities as violations at its sole discretion:
a. Illegal or Harmful Content
- Hosting, distributing, or linking to child pornography or content involving minors in violation of applicable laws.
- Hosting, distributing, or linking to any material advocating terrorism, violence, or illegal activities.
b. Resource Abuse
- Engaging in excessive CPU, memory, or resource usage that adversely affects server performance or the ability to provide services to other customers.
c. Denial of Service (DoS)
- Being the source or target of any form of a Denial of Service (DoS) or Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack.
d. Fraud and Identity Theft
- Hosting or linking to fraudulent websites or content designed to deceive users.
- Engaging in identity theft by distributing, hosting, or linking to stolen personal, financial, or account information.
e. Malware Distribution
- Hosting, distributing, or linking to malicious software, including but not limited to viruses, worms, trojans, exploits, or any content designed to compromise or disrupt the functionality of any network or device.
f. Unauthorized Services
- Hosting Internet Relay Chat (IRC) servers or related services without prior authorization from TrentaHost.
g. Mass Storage Violations
- Using hosting accounts primarily for mass storage of data backups, archives, or other non-hosting-related files.
h. Spam and Unsolicited Communications
- Engaging in unsolicited commercial email (UCE), unsolicited bulk email (UBE), or any other form of spamming activity, including but not limited to hosting, distributing, or linking to spam email lists or spam-related content.
- Hosting sites that promote or are advertised through unsolicited means (spam).
i. Phishing
- Engaging in phishing activities, including hosting or linking to websites designed to impersonate legitimate entities with the intent of stealing sensitive information.
j. Unauthorized Use of Trademarks and Copyrighted Material
- Hosting, distributing, or linking to materials that infringe upon trademarks, copyrights, or other intellectual property rights of third parties.
k. Prohibited Services
- Hosting or linking to any form of anonymous proxy server.
- Hosting services related to video or voice chatting (e.g., Camfrog or similar platforms).
l. Tools and Instructional Materials for Illegal Activities
- Hosting, distributing, or linking to software, tools, or instructional content related to hacking, cracking, or any other illegal activity.
4. Liability and Indemnification
Customers shall be solely responsible for their use of TrentaHost Services and shall indemnify and hold TrentaHost, its affiliates, employees, and partners harmless from any and all claims, damages, liabilities, or expenses arising from their use of the Services in violation of this policy or applicable law.
5. Amendments to Policy
TrentaHost reserves the right to amend this Acceptable Use Policy at any time and will notify customers of any significant changes. Continued use of TrentaHost Services after such changes constitutes acceptance of the modified policy.
