ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY (AUP)

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs the use of any products, services, or systems provided by TrentaHost Co. and its affiliates (“TrentaHost”) by the customer (“Customer”). This AUP is incorporated by reference into the TrentaHost Terms of Service. By utilizing TrentaHost’s Services, Customer agrees to be bound by the terms set forth herein. TrentaHost reserves the right to modify this AUP at any time, with or without notice, and Customer’s continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of any such modifications.


1. Lawful Use and Compliance with Applicable Law

1.1 Customer shall use the Services exclusively for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable local, regional, national, and international laws and regulations, including but not limited to laws of the United Kingdom, the United States, and the jurisdiction in which the Customer resides or operates.

1.2 Customer shall not transmit, store, upload, download, post, distribute, or make available any content, data, or material that:

  • (a) violates any applicable law or regulation;

  • (b) infringes upon any third party’s intellectual property rights, including but not limited to copyright, trademark, patent, or trade secret rights;

  • (c) constitutes or promotes defamatory, abusive, harassing, libelous, invasive of privacy, obscene, hateful, or otherwise objectionable conduct;

  • (d) is designed to exploit or harm minors in any way;

  • (e) constitutes deceptive or fraudulent practices, including phishing, identity theft, or financial fraud;

  • (f) includes instructions, tools, or software for illegal activities such as hacking, cracking, or bypassing access controls.


2. Termination, Suspension, and Right of Refusal

2.1 TrentaHost reserves the unilateral right, without notice, to suspend, terminate, or refuse the provision of Services to any Customer, account, or domain that, in TrentaHost’s sole judgment:

  • (a) violates this AUP;

  • (b) poses a risk to the stability, security, or performance of TrentaHost’s infrastructure;

  • (c) subjects TrentaHost to potential legal liability;

  • (d) negatively impacts the use of Services by other Customers.

2.2 TrentaHost may, in its sole discretion, remove or disable access to content that it deems to be in violation of this AUP or applicable law.


3. Prohibited Conduct and Content

Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the following activities are strictly prohibited:

a. Illegal Content or Conduct

  • Hosting, disseminating, or linking to any form of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or content involving minors in contravention of applicable law.

  • Promoting terrorism, violence, or illegal acts.

b. System Resource Abuse

  • Excessive use of server resources including CPU, RAM, or disk I/O which degrades system performance or affects service availability for other customers.

  • Circumventing resource limitations imposed on hosting plans.

c. Network Abuse

  • Initiating, participating in, or being the target of Denial-of-Service (DoS), Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS), or other disruptive attacks.

  • Port scanning, probing, or any unauthorized access attempts.

d. Fraud and Deceptive Practices

  • Hosting fraudulent websites including but not limited to fake banking, tech support, or e-commerce scams.

  • Harvesting or collecting personally identifiable information (PII) without consent.

e. Malware and Malicious Software

  • Hosting, distributing, or linking to viruses, worms, trojans, ransomware, rootkits, exploits, or any other code designed to disrupt, damage, or compromise networks or devices.

f. Spam and Unsolicited Messaging

  • Engaging in the transmission of unsolicited commercial email (UCE), unsolicited bulk email (UBE), SMS spam, or other forms of messaging abuse.

  • Hosting email lists obtained through harvesting or without verifiable opt-in consent.

  • Promoting services via spam or black-hat SEO tactics.

g. Mass Storage and Archiving

  • Using shared hosting accounts primarily as backup or file storage repositories unrelated to web hosting.

  • Hosting large quantities of log files, email archives, or offsite backups.

h. Phishing and Impersonation

  • Hosting or linking to websites that impersonate legitimate entities with the intent to collect user credentials or sensitive information.

  • Using domains or content that infringe on the brand identity or trademark of third parties.

i. Prohibited Services and Content

  • Operating IRC servers, bots, or bouncers unless expressly authorized in writing.

  • Hosting video streaming/chat platforms such as Camfrog, Paltalk, Omegle, or similar without prior approval.

  • Running cryptocurrency miners on shared or VPS hosting environments.

  • Operating public VPN, Tor exit nodes, or anonymous proxy services.

j. Intellectual Property Violations

  • Hosting, distributing, or linking to copyrighted, trademarked, or patented material without proper authorization or licensing.

k. Distribution of Harmful Instructional Material

  • Hosting, distributing, or linking to guides, tutorials, or software for committing cybercrimes, bypassing software licensing, or engaging in social engineering.


4. Security Obligations

4.1 Customer is solely responsible for maintaining the security of their accounts, including ensuring strong passwords, timely software updates, and secure configurations.

4.2 Customer shall not interfere with or disrupt the integrity, availability, or performance of TrentaHost’s systems or services.

4.3 TrentaHost reserves the right to conduct routine or investigative security scans and may quarantine or remove malicious files or vulnerabilities.


5. Enforcement and Cooperation

5.1 TrentaHost may investigate any suspected violation of this AUP and may involve and cooperate with law enforcement agencies or regulatory bodies in the investigation and prosecution of illegal activities.

5.2 Failure to comply with this AUP may result in account suspension, termination, deletion of data, and/or legal action, as determined by TrentaHost in its sole discretion.


6. Limitation of Liability and Indemnification

6.1 Customer agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless TrentaHost, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and partners from and against all claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

  • (a) Customer’s breach of this AUP;

  • (b) content hosted, transmitted, or made available via the Services;

  • (c) any third-party claims related to Customer’s use of the Services.


7. Modifications to the Policy

7.1 TrentaHost may revise this AUP at any time, effective upon publication. Continued use of the Services following such revisions constitutes Customer’s acceptance of the modified policy.
